    Monocrystalline solar cellMonocrystalline solar modules, which is made of monocrystalline silicon, is the purest one. You can easily recognise them from the uniform dark look and the rounded edges. The silicon’s high purity causes this type of solar modules has the high efficiency rates, with the newest ones reaching above 20%.

    Monocrystalline solar modules are generally thought of as a premium solar product. The main advantages of moncrystalline modules are higher efficiencies and sleeker aesthetics.

    To make solar cells for monocrystalline solar modules, silicon is formed into bars and cut into wafers. These types of modules are called “monocrystalline” to indicate that the silicon used is single-crystal silicon. Because the cell is composed of a single crystal, the electrons that generate a flow of electricity have more room to move. As a result, monocrystalline panels are more efficient than their polycrystalline counterparts.
