So if a photovoltaic power station is installed on the roof, so many photovoltaic components, and the inverter output so much current, will it produce electromagnetic radiation, and will it have an impact on the human and household appliances in the end? This question will be answered today.


Before that, we must find out the most basic question: what is electromagnetic radiation?

First, radiation refers to the process of transmitting energy to the surrounding space in the form of waves or particles. All objects in nature will output energy in different forms only when their temperature is above absolute zero. In short, everything in the world has radiation, including human beings. However, not all radiation is harmful, such as the radiation of the sun - sunlight is essential to us. Then we have to figure out how large the electromagnetic radiation of PV systems is.

Generally speaking, photovoltaic system consists of PV modules, supports, DC cables, inverters, AC cables, power distribution cabinets, transformers and so on. In these equipment, the bracket does not have any electricity, and naturally does not produce electromagnetic interference. Photovoltaic modules and DC cables, all of them are DC currents, with no change in direction. They only generate electric fields and do not produce magnetic fields. Although the output transformer is AC, the frequency is very low, generally only 50Hz, resulting in a very low magnetic field.

The only way to generate radiation is inverter. It is a device that converts DC to alternating current. It has power electronics conversion, and the frequency is usually 5-20KHz. The state has strict standards for electromagnetic compatibility of PV inverters and implements unified standards. So the electromagnetic radiation of a photovoltaic inverter is about the same as that of a notebook computer if it is compared to a home appliance, far below the electromagnetic stove, the electric hair dryer and the refrigerator. So it doesn't need to be disturbed. So, which radiation is bigger than Wi-Fi and photovoltaic?

We all know that Wi-Fi radiation has always been criticized by many people, and many pregnant women are far away from it. In fact, as a wireless device, Wi-Fi itself has a transmitter, which does produce electromagnetic radiation around it. However, the power of the ordinary Wi-Fi is only between 30~500 milliwatts, smaller than the power of ordinary mobile phones (0.125~2 watts).

At the same time, compared to mobile phones, wireless routers and other devices, the photovoltaic system is usually built on the roof, far far away from the user, which makes people accept that the power density of their radiation is much smaller. So, it is easier for PV to suggest people here, rather than fear the radiation brought by the photovoltaic power generation system, so it is better to put down more mobile phones and spend more time with their families.
