EU cancels minimum import price requirement for Chinese solar products

It was reported that at a meeting in Brussels, most EU member states decided not to impose anti-dumping and Countervailing Measures on silicon solar photovoltaic modules and batteries imported from China. Therefore, the minimum import price (MIP) requirement is likely to end in September 3rd.

According to the existing information, MIP and tariff regulations will be terminated on the expiry date. EU Prosun, who has proposed a review of existing anti-dumping and countervailing policies, says some companies are already exploring the possibility of appealing against the decision.

Milan Nitzschke, president of EU Prosun, said the European Commission's decision was not surprising because the implementation of anti-dumping policies by Importers'associations for many years had hampered the development of the European photovoltaic industry.
