Do you know these battery performance terms? (I)


1, Why the constant voltage charging current will gradually decrease?

As the constant current process terminates, the electrochemical polarization in the battery remains the same level in the constant current. During constant pressure, the concentration polarization of internal Li+ is gradually eliminated under constant electric field, and the number of ions and the rate of velocity decrease gradually.


2. What is the battery internal resistance?

It refers to the resistance of the battery flowing through the battery when it is working. There are two parts of Ohm internal resistance and polarization internal resistance. The large internal resistance of the battery will lead to the reduction of the discharge voltage and the reduction of the discharge time. The internal resistance is mainly affected by the material, manufacturing process and battery structure of the battery. It is an important parameter to measure the performance of a battery. Note: generally, the internal resistance of the charge state is the standard. The internal resistance of the battery must be measured by a special internal resistance tester to ensure the accuracy of the obtained value.


3. What is the capacity of the battery? How do you calculate it? What are the factors that affect the capacity of the battery?

The capacity of the battery is divided into rated capacity and actual capacity.

The rated capacity of a n battery means the amount of electric charge that the battery should provide at the ambient temperature of 20 and 5 C at the 5h rate to the terminating voltage, which is expressed in C5.

The actual capacity of a n battery is the actual quantity of electric charge released under a certain discharge condition, mainly influenced by the discharge rate and temperature (so strictly speaking, the battery capacity should indicate the charge and discharge conditions).

N capacity common units are mAh and Ah (1Ah=1000mAh).

There are two main factors that affect the capacity of the battery: one is the weight of the active substance; the two is the utilization rate of the active substance. The utilization of active substances includes the activity of A and active substances: the ability of residual electrochemical reaction is related to its crystal structure, manufacturing methods and impurities; the structure of B, electrode and battery: molding method, plate aperture, thickness, real surface area; C, composition of electrolysis liquid; D, manufacturing process; E, discharge. 4. What is the open circuit voltage? What is the working voltage?

Open circuit voltage refers to the potential difference between positive and negative electrodes of a battery in the non working state, i.e., no current flows through the circuit. Under normal circumstances, the open circuit voltage of Li-ion battery is about 4.1 - 4.2V after full power, and the open circuit voltage is about 3.0V after discharge. By detecting the open circuit voltage of the battery, the charging state of the battery can be judged.

The working voltage of N, also known as terminal voltage, refers to the potential difference between the positive and negative electrodes of a battery when it flows through a circuit in its working state. In the battery discharge working state, when the current flows through the inside of the battery, it does not need to overcome the resistance caused by the internal resistance of the battery, so the working voltage is always lower than the open circuit voltage and the charge is opposite to the charge. The discharge voltage of Li-ion is about 3.6V.


5. What is the discharge platform?

The discharge platform is the discharge time when the voltage is 4.2V under any rate of current of the battery, and when the charging current is less than 0.01C, the charge is filled with electricity and then is shelved for 10 minutes and discharge to 3.6V under any rate of discharge current.


N is required to be more than 3.6V for the operating voltage of a lithium ion battery for the use of a lithium ion battery. If it is lower than that, it will not work. Therefore, the discharge platform is one of the most important criteria for measuring battery performance.
